Week 3--Thing 6--Mashups

While exploring the suggested sites, I found http://googlemapsmania.blogspot.com/.
Google Maps Mania is, “An unofficial Google Maps blog tracking the websites, mashups and tools being influenced by Google Maps.” Many, many choices are available here including this one: http://thirstyhiker.com/. This map plots brew pubs visited by the author, who I assume is a thirsty hiker. The majority of the brew pubs are in the area roughly bounded by: Pittsburgh to NYC to DC. Click on a rated pub of your choice and read the review. Many pubs are reviewed in Pennsylvania. Try to find one in your area. Cheers--Doc.

Week 3--Thing 5--Obi Wan Kenobi

I set up a link between by Flickr (Yahoo) account and my blog. This enabled me to post a photo directly from Flickr to my blog. Exploring flickr by both tags and camera type can go on forever. This photo of Obi Wan Kenobi caught my eye. I remember the words of one of my photography teachers, "you can't go wrong with photos of either pets or kids." Week 2--Creating Blog

Creating a blog wasn't very difficult. Choosing the appearance elements of the avatar was a 7 1/2 activity. The instructions for inserting the avatar by copying a pasting html code did not work. Adding a jpeg of the avatar was the way to go. Keeping a log of activities in a Word document--including passwords--is my method of organization. Onward to week 3--Doc.
